And to think that the lineup couldn’t get any bigger. Already sporting an impeccable register of acts, including The Flaming Lips, Angus Stone, Two Door Cinema Club, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Hot Chip, SBTRKT and stacks of others, the festival organisers have dropped another massive, Australian-dominated instalment, which will surely remove any doubts from attendee’s minds.
First off the ranks is Australia’s new sensation Flume. Dropping his debut album in two days, Flume is set to take the world by storm, having an even crazier future twelve months than his past. This show will see Flume play his new tracks for one of the first times live in Australia, with only two other performances occurring before the New Year’s Eve festival. Following Flume are Australia’s electro favourites Miami Horror – who are currently touring the Americas, supported by fellow Australian indie acts Parachute Youth, who are keen to storm the stage after the Parklife blunder at Sydney, which saw their gear arrive late, and them subsequently unable to perform.
Bringing up the latter end of the announcement are the likes of Bleeding Knees Club, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Alison Wonderland, Husky, DZ Dethrays, Cassian and too many others. If you haven’t already gotten a ticket, you’re going to have to find another way to try and enjoy New Year’s Eve, but it just won’t be the same as being at Falls, unless you buy a ticket to Marion Bay of course. This mammoth lineup combines to create a solid 60+ lineup, all helping to celebrate the festival’s 20th birthday, and my word they are definitely doing it in style.
