UPDATE: Falls Festival 2018/2019 Lineup Announced
ORIGINAL STORY: The 26th annual Falls Festival is going down at the end of the year, with organisers today revealing dates and locations for 2018/2019.
Punters will return to Lorne (Victoria), Marion Bay (Tasmania), Byron Bay (New South Wales) and Fremantle (Western Australia) between December and January, and you can catch all the dates and details down below.
There’s no word yet on when the lineup will arrive, but a video teaser organisers dropped today is curiously soundtracked by Touch Sensitive’s ‘Lay Down’… could that be a hint??? The Sydney producer did perform at last summer’s event, but only in Lorne.
Organisers may have also dropped some potential lineup clues with their 2018 South By Southwest party roster, which included the likes of Gang Of Youths, Dermot Kennedy, Stella Donnelly and Manchester indie-pop outfit Pale Waves.
The 2017/2018 Falls lineup featured the likes of Liam Gallagher, Flume, Glass Animals, Fleet Foxes, Run The Jewels, The Kooks and Angus & Julia Stone.
A number of acts who performed at Falls Festival last summer backed Camp Cope’s calls for gender equality on festival lineups, as well as for action to be taken to prevent sexual assault, with many donning T-shirts which featured the words, ‘THE PERSON WEARING THIS SHIRT STANDS AGAINST SEXUAL ASSAULT AND DEMANDS A CHANGE.’
