FBi Radio Are Putting On A Brand New Summer Festival With An Ace Lineup

Sydney’s FBi Radio have announced a mighty local lineup for their first ever Sydney, music, arts and culture (SMAC) Festival.

As part of Sydney Festival, the community station have enlisted the likes of Cosmo’s Midnight, Vallis Alps, Dustin Tebbutt and Tuka, among others, to play an entirely homegrown event at Sydney’s Carriageworks in early January.

As the name suggest it won’t be all about music, with FBi using the multi-purpose Carriageworks space to showcase art as well as music. If you’re not sold on that alone, there will also be a mini golf course designed by installation artist Rosie Deacon and a dark rave cave put on by digital electronic music station FBi Click.

Foodies will no doubt be swayed by the temptation of Molto Benet – a traditional Italian BBQ put on by the one and only Donny Benet who will bring the Italo disco vibes.

The SMACs Festival is an extension of FBi’s SMAC awards which have been going for seven years and have previously given out awards to the likes of The Preatures, Flume and Cloud Control.

The SMAC Awards will return in 2015 as per usual with the nominees set to be announced in mid-November with winners to be crowned on 12th January 2016, just days after the festival.

This isn’t the first festival FBi have hosted at Carriageworks. In 2013, they held their 10th Anniversary festival there with sets from The Presets, Cloud Control and Hermitude.
