Sydney’s most notorious party-starters, Frankie’s World Famous House Band, are back — and they’re cranking the amps to 11 for a two-night rock’n’roll rampage at The Metro Theatre, kicking off tonight.
Forged in the sticky, beer-soaked fires of the late, great Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice, FWFHB earned cult status the old-fashioned way — by ripping through iconic anthems with zero irony and maximum shred. Their résumé reads like a backstage pass from Valhalla, with members of KISS, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Alice Cooper and more having jumped up for a jam.

Now, they’re bringing that same chaotic energy to the stage for a back-to-back celebration of rock’s golden decades — night one (tonight, Wednesday 17th June) dedicated to the searing power of the ‘70s, and night two (next Wednesday, 25th June) diving headfirst into the excess of the ‘80s.
Expect guitar heroics, powerhouse vocals, and enough hairspray and cowbell to rupture time.
With core members Joel and Jordan McDonald (guitar & drums) and Bobby Poulton (bass) leading the charge, they’ll be joined by a revolving door of Australia’s gnarliest guest vocalists — and maybe even a few mystery legends for good measure.
Best part? It’s free.
Presented by The Metro Theatre and NITE-RITE, with vinyl giveaways courtesy of Sony Music featuring titles from the likes of AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Joan Jett, Pink Floyd and more, this isn’t just a gig — it’s a rock’n’roll pilgrimage.
