Frenzal Rhomb, The Smith Street Band To Play Australia Day Weekend Fundraisers

The 2015 lineup has been announced for the Australia Day Weekend Fundraiser Shows, and it is a cracker. The Reverence Hotel and The Corner Hotel in Melbourne will feature the likes of punk veterans Frenzal Rhomb, the sweet soul of Saskwatch, and local rock favourites The Smith Street Band.

Now in its fifth year, the Australia Day long weekend shows are put on by bands and staff, working for free to raise money for The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, The Refugee Council and Oxfam.

In 2015, the event will continue its tradition of representing acts from all ends of the musical spectrum. Also featured at The Reverence Hotel will be Hoodlum Shouts, Hawaiian Islands, Rob Muinos, Have/Hold, and Outright, among others.

The Smith Street Band will be joined on the second day at The Corner Hotel by The Bennies, local MC Joelistics, alt hip hop masters Curse ov Dialect, and local punks Fear Like Us.

Since its beginnings at The Tote in Collingwood, the Australia Day Weekend Fundraisers have raised over $25,000 and featured over 100 Australian acts.
