Fun Lovin’ Criminals Announce Australian Tour Showcasing Their ‘Scooby Snacks’-Featuring Debut Album

The ’90s nostalgia train continues to pick up passengers and New York’s Fun Lovin’ Criminals are the latest to get on board. Gearing up for an Australian tour to celebrate 20 years since the release of their debut album Come Find Yourself, the trio of Huey Morgan, Brian Leiser and Frank Benbini will play the album live and in full for the first time since its release.

Continuing the trend of resurrecting albums once enough time has passed for everyone to look back on them through the rose tinted glasses of memory, Come Find Yourself is perhaps one of the most ’90s sounding albums from the era. Even for this humble reporter who was 9 at the time the album came out, going back over the tracks writing this today I find myself remembering lyrics to songs I don’t remember listening to.

The fact this album was even made was a bit of a fluke in truth. The band only got their record deal after the band being spotted by an EMI executive when they were filling in for a band who failed to turn up to a show at the club where the three founding members worked in New York. It literally sounds like the premise of some ’90s movie starring second rate cast members from 90210.

And while you might think this is another case of band reforming to cash in on their aged mystique, the Fun Lovin’ Criminals have never stopped touring or working on music. Plus I’m sure there will be some bucket hat wearing millennials out there eager to eat up their Tarantino sampling, genre hopping ’90s beats.

Tickets for the tour are on general sale from 10am Thursday February 4. Catch full tour details below.

Then in the meantime check out the ’90s as fuck video for Come Find Yourself‘s hit single Scooby Snacks here.
