It’s been far too long between drinks for Gang Of Youths fans, but now the iconic national favourites seem to be back as they tease something called ‘The Angel Of 8th Ave’.
The band posted a story on their Instagram earlier tonight (Thursday, 3rd June) which provided a link to their TikTok account, which only has one video on it.
That video is soundtracked with some piano keys, showing someone in front of a punching bag, strapping their fists. This lines up with the array of punching bags and boxing gloves the band have been sharing all over their social media in recent days.
As the camera distorts, text shows up that reads “THE ANGEL OF 8TH AVE. GANG OF YOUTHS”.

At the moment, it’s completely unclear what ‘The Angel Of 8th Ave.’ is, be it a song, an album or something else entirely. It’s also not clear when what they’re teasing will arrive.
What we do know is that the band have completely updated their social media for the first time since the 2017 release of their second album Go Farther In Lightness. Their profile picture across platforms has been changed to an image of punching bags, and they’ve been responding to various comments with boxing glove emojis.
Needless to say, it looks like Dave Le’aupepe and co. are ready to step back into the ring and we think it’s safe to get keen for new GOY content once again.
