If there’s anything Gang Of Youths suck at, it’s sucking.
In a tongue-in-cheek move, the beloved Sydney indie-rockers have covered a song by your mum’s favourite band U2 for a session with US-based music performance series, One On One.
Posting the newly minted vid of gang members David & Joji performing Bono’s naff crooner at New York’s City Winery surrounded by barrels of the red stuff, GOY joked: “Just in case you thought we were cool here is a U2 cover to ensure you never make that mistake again.”
**Cue your heart melting into a puddle of goo because their stripped-back rendition of the aching love ballad is just so bloody brilliant you can’t even**
That’s the general consensus on social media, at any rate:
Yep, they may have just made U2 cool again.
Watch their ‘With Or Without You’ cover for yourself below, and ICYMI: Gang Of Youths recently unleashed an epic new original track dubbed ‘What Can I Do If The Fire Goes Out?’ off their soon-to-be-released LP, Go Farther In Lightness.
