Gengahr Have Announced An Australian Tour For Next Year, Along With A New Album

UK indie rockers Gengahr have announced they’ll return to Australia in March 2020 for their first visit in around 5 years, performing a pair of headline shows – one in Sydney and one in Melbourne.

The impending travel plans coincide with the announcement of their new album Sanctuary – the band’s third – set for release on Friday, 31st January 2020.

They’ve also shared the first taste of the album with new single, entitled ‘Everything & More’.

For Sanctuary, Gengahr brought on Bombay Bicycle Club’s Jack Steadman to produce the record. Lyrically, the album draws from Homer’s Odyssey, and concerns songwriter Felix Bushe’s long distance relationship – his wife still lives in Australia – along with the sudden passing of his mother, with tracks on the album focusing on topics such as partying in order to distract himself from real life problems.

“I was picturing myself as Odysseus in this captive journey where I was just trying to get back to where I wanted to be in life,” explains Bushe.

Check out tour dates – and ‘Everything & More’ – below. Tickets go on sale next Friday, 11th October, with a Frontier Touring members pre-sale from Tuesday, 8th October.
