Giorgio Moroder Previews New Album Featuring Sia And Kylie Minogue

Disco icon and Daft Punk collaborator Giorgio Moroder has shared 74 Is The New 24, the first track from an unnamed forthcoming album which is set for release in the Australian autumn of 2015. The release will feature artists such as Sia, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko and more.

Moroder confirmed his next album’s impressive guest list, which also includes Foxes and Matthew Koma, via his Facebook page. “I’m very excited to announce my first studio album in over 30 years,” he commented, before adding, “Are you ready to dance?”

The Italian electronic music pioneer prefaced the reveal of typically dance floor-friendly track 74 Is The New 24 (below) with a quick ode to his craft.

“Dance music doesn’t care where you live. It doesn’t care who your friends are,” he said. “It doesn’t care how much money you make. It doesn’t care if your [sic] 74 or if you are 24 because… 74 is the new 24!” Catch 74 Is The New 24 in full, below, alongside its official artwork.

Moroder last performed in Australia in June as part of Sydney’s Vivid LIVE. He released his first single in 22 years Giorgio’s Theme, in the same month, and fans will instantly notice a striking similarity between that track and the new one,.

At the time of writing, Moroder’s official website remains under construction, and features a banner which reads, “New website launching shortly.” There will certainly be more music and news to come.
