Girls To The Front: Triple J Shares All-Female Programming Plans For International Women’s Day

In keeping with tradition, triple j is putting ‘Girls To The Front’ this Friday for International Women’s Day and they’ve announced a stacked day of talent taking over our airwaves courtesy of the music industry’s finest women.

In their fifth annual ‘Girls To The Front’ across triple j, triple j Unearthed, and Double J, women are taking over the day’s programming — no boys allowed.

With women being under-represented in the music industry, triple j is taking the day to show off the best female-identifying artists, presenters, and journalists.

Joining triple j as guests for the day, Alison Wonderland and Judith Lucy are said to be brewing up something special and we can expect a Like a Version from Flint Eastwood.

We’ll hear from presenters: Sally & Erica, Linda Marigliano, Lucy Smith, Veronica Milsom (and friends, Odette, Jess Perkins), and Bridget Hustwaite before Alison Wonderland takes over with ‘Friday Night Wonderland’.

Alice Matthews and Jo Lauder will be delivering news as well as Hack’s Ange McCormack who’ll be, “analysing the status of women in the music industry with her annual Women in Music report, now in its fourth year”.

Assistant Music Director Gemma Pike and Music Researcher/Producer Karla Ranby will be in charge of programming all-female tunes throughout the day.
