Glass Animals Fulfil Promise To Get Aus-Themed Tattoos On Their Bums

Two members of London band Glass Animals are wearing fresh ink on their backsides.

The band promised they’d get Australian-themed tattoos if their song ‘Heat Waves’ was voted #1 in the Hottest 100 of 2020. The band made the promise on 13th January, 2021, writing on Twitter:

“here’s the deal: heatwaves on top of the pile in @tripleJ hottest 100 = australia tattooed to each of our buttocks, not each cheek obvs. inked on us 4eva as a sign of our love for the greatest sporting country on earth.”

The band claimed victory 12 months ago, edging out Freo’s Spacey Jane in second place, and now they’ve come good on their promise to get tattooed.

Singer Dave Bayley got a map of Australia with some squiggly lines representing heat. It’s his first ever tattoo. Guitarist Drew MacFarlane got a koala on a branch.

“My arse will never be the same again,” said MacFarlane. “We’re all truly going to be arse animals now.”

Glass Animals were recently announced as co-headliners of Adelaide’s Spin-Off Festival alongside Jack Harlow, Spacey Jane and Ball Park Music. The band will be playing headline shows in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne this July. See all dates below
