Glass Animals Detail New Album & Drop Title Track ‘Dreamland’

UK outfit Glass Animals have announced their third full-length album, revealing a title of Dreamland and a release date of July 3rd.

News of the band’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2018 record How To Be A Human Being comes with a taste of new music as well. Glass Animals have dropped ‘Dreamland’ the single, which comes with a music video as well.

The tune is unsurprisingly a blissfully dreamy number, with a stack of different effects applied to frontman Dave Bayley’s vocals. It’s a soothing and calming number, and couldn’t have come at a better time given the state of the world at the moment.

“Each line asks a question that’s explored in a later song…the words here could be considered a table of contents for the album as a whole,” said Bayley of the title track.

Bayley made the clip himself with a small remote team, and it was filmed entirely using Zoom.

As for Dreamland the forthcoming album, Bayley revealed that it’s a formative record, which harks back to his childhood years and the most important moments in his life.

“I put every ounce of my soul into this album. It’s the most ambitious and challenging thing we’ve done by a distance,” he said.

“It’s about realising its ok to not have answers and its ok to not know how you feel about things and that its ok to be and look vulnerable.”

It’s also an album born in isolation amid the coronavirus pandemic. “Right now seems like the most insane, but also the most apt time to reveal this record. Growing up is a strange time, the hospital was a strange time, and here we are in a strange time again.”
