It’s with broken hearts that Grouplove have announced they will no longer be seeing through their previously announced Australian tour dates. Scheduled to perform at Falls Festival as well as a bunch of sideshows, the band will be tapping the breaks on account of “strict doctor’s orders”.
Vocalist Hannah Hooper took to socials (below) to break the news, detailing instructions “to be on complete vocal rest for the next 4-6 weeks”. Hooper added that while she’s done everything she can possibly think of to relieve the situation, “Right now this is completely out of my control.”
The cancellation doesn’t just include their Australian shows, but rather all remaining dates for the year, which did include some dates in the US, so we know it’s not personal.
Hannah firms up that her vocal chords will heal, and that the band will make these cancelled shows up to all affected.
Falls Festival is currently working on a replacement act, while those with tickets to Grouplove’s headline shows are being told that if they purchased tickets using a credit card, funds will automatically be returned to that card. If you booked using cash or EFTPOS you’ll need to return to the original point of purchase.
