Guns N’ Roses are the latest act to try their hand at becoming authors, with the band set to release a children’s book this year.
Aptly titled ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’, the book will be released in September and is set to be based on their 1987 classic song of the same name.
The book will see Guns N’ Roses collaborate with author James Patterson and illustrator Jennifer Zivon.
“As a longtime fan of Guns N’ Roses, I’m thrilled to partner with the band in bringing their famed hit song to life on the page,” Patterson told People.
“’Sweet Child O’Mine’ is a story that I know kids will love reading and that parents will love singing along to.” He also said the story “celebrates love and music, and how they bring us together in the sweetest ways”.
In a press release, it was revealed that the book is inspired by Natalia and Maya, who are cousins that “grew up touring with the band”. One girl is the daughter of the band’s manager Fernando Lebis, and the other is his sister’s daughter.

We’re expecting new music from the band sometime soon, after Slash confirmed 12 months ago that there was new Guns N’ Roses music on the way.
It’s set to be the first new material to feature Slash, Duff and Axl Rose together in over 25 years.
