Hear The Debut Single From Hybrid Green Day-Rancid Punk Supergroup ‘Armstrongs’

Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong has teamed up with Rancid‘s Tim Armstrong to release their first punk ditty as the logically-named new supergroup “Armstrongs”.

The fresh project sees the veteran musos combining their East Bay punk powers in a lineup rounded out by their fam, Billie Joe’s drummer son Joey (of SWMRS) and Tim’s nephew Rey.

Yep, this band is 100% organic grain-fed Armstrong right here.

And they’ve announced themselves upon the world with a raw new anthem called ‘If There Was Ever A Time’, which recently featured in the Green Day’s star-studded doco Turn It Around: The Story Of East Bay Punk.

“Anything that has to do with working with Gilman and Tim and Joey Armstrong, consider me in,” Billie Joe says. “This is about our home and family. Viva Armstrong!”

“It was exciting to work on this song with Billie and crew for the film,” Tim adds. “Stoked to share the tune with everyone out there and to be donating all the proceeds to Gilman, which is a place so near, dear, and important to us.”

Armstrongs will donate 100% of the proceeds from their debut single to 924 Gilman: “a DIY, nonprofit, all-ages venue for music, art, and community events in Berkeley, California”.

Give it a cheeky spin below.
