Danish singer-songwriter MØ has shared her version of the Smashing Pumpkins‘ 1995 classic ‘Bullet with Butterfly Wings’.
It’s taken from MMMMØ – The Mix, her upcoming remix album of “old favourites, new favourites and some B-sides” with producer Walshy Fire of Major Lazer. That’s scheduled for release on Friday, 1st November.
For her rendition, the singer pares back the raw aggression of the Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness hit, turning it into a sparse, haunting cut rather than the melancholic headbanger of the original.
It’s not the first time MØ has given her take on someone else’s track. Back in May, the singer delivered a hazy dream-pop cover of Dominic Fike’s ‘3 Nights’ on Like A Version while she was in the country.
