Rock stalwarts Red Hot Chili Peppers have shared the super-smooth title track from their upcoming 11th studio album, The Getaway, which is due out in June.
The song The Getaway, which (of course) mentions the state of California in its lyrics, packs some glassy and jittery guitars, tight grooves, some electronic percussion and pretty much laid-back vibes all round. Stream the new track in full alongside its lyrics, below.
The Getaway is the second song to be lifted from the Chili’s forthcoming new album, arriving after the Dark Necessities dropped earlier this month as the group’s first new song in five years.
The album The Getaway is set for release on 17th June, featuring 13 new songs which the band have recently started to play live. The record was produced by Danger Mouse and mixed by Radiohead’s longtime producer Nigel Godrich.
