The time is here, pals. Every Aus music lover’s favourite day of the year, Triple J‘s Hottest 100, is fast approaching and they’ve revealed all the important information – and dates – you need to know.
Firstly, voting will open at 8AM AEDT on Monday, 16th December. Voting will stay open until 3pm AEDT on Monday, 20th December.
Then, the big countdown will take place on Saturday, 25th January – as per the station’s new policy regarding the countdown being on January 26th. Then, on that Sunday, they’ll play exclusively Australian music. Finally, on Monday, 27th January they’ll do the countdown of the 100 songs that missed out – the Hottest 200.
Triple J have also announced that they have a new charity partner in Greening Australia. It’s a charity that have initiated tree-planting projects all across the country to “restore natural environments, cool our cities, save endangered animals and pull carbon out of the atmosphere.”
Last year’s Hottest 100 was, of course, won by Ocean Alley and their seminal hit ‘Confidence.’
