I Killed The Prom Queen Sign To Epitaph, New Album Coming 2014

Forefathers of the Australian metalcore movement I Killed The Prom Queen have announced that they will be teaming up with the iconic Epitaph Records to facilitate the release of their highly anticipated third studio record, with the as-yet-untitled album getting a tentative release date of 2014.

The band have been hard at it in a Swedish studio working with producer Fredrik Nordström (Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, In Flames, Dimmu Brogir, Architects) and clearly have big plans for the release given the partnership with Epitaph. So far, we’ve only heard the lead single Memento Vivere which shows promising signs from the new-look IKTPQ.

Of the album, the band’s Jona Weinhofen says:

“We are dying to get this album out and into the hands of old and new I Killed The Prom Queen fans everywhere. To me this record feels as though I Killed The Prom Queen never took a break and is a natural progression of the band. You will hear hints of our side projects and new influences, but make no mistake, this is an I Killed The Prom Queen record through and through. Its fast, melodic, heavy, catchy and we have added a couple of new elements which really bring it up there with the level of music being created these days.”

In the nearer future, the band will be heading out for a run of Australian tour dates hitting just about everywhere. A key component to the West Coast Rampage tour, the band are now fighting fit following their cheeky hiatus.
