Iggy Azalea has had it up to here with the internet. In a serious of strongly-worded tweets this afternoon, the Mullumbimby local has said she’s turning her social media accounts over to her management because of the way she has been treated online.
Iggy first tweeted saying that after returning from vacation she “came online and saw apparently it’s shocking and unheard of to be a woman and have cellulite. Lol,” before commenting on the paparazzi.
“I just want to have peace and relaxation time without a perve with long distance lense [sic] hiding out taking pictures, everyone deserves peace. I feel the hatred and pettiness I see online at all times is at [sic] making me become an angry person and I cannot be that.”
Iggy, who has had plenty social media beefs in the past — including with Azealia Banks, Q-Tip and hacker group Anonymous — went on to tell her fans that the way she has been treated online has affected her in substantial ways.
“To become nasty because of the way I feel I am treated would be a disservice to my fans and I promise I will try to keep smiling. But I also want to let my fans know I am taking some time away from social media. I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining.”
Iggy wrapped up what could be her last Twitter session for some time by confirming that her management will be running her socials, with any messages from Iggy herself to be signed with “IA”. But, before she left, she published one final tweet, “The Internet is the ugliest reflection of man kind there is.”
