Izzy Stradlin Finally Reveals Why He’s Sitting Out The Guns N’ Roses Reunion Tour

“It’s not a real reunion without Izzy” is the catch-cry of the vast majority of diehard Guns N’ Roses fans who’ve been watching the band’s long-awaited reunion unfold.

Classic rhythm guitarist Izzy fuckin’ Stradlin is widely regarded as the unsung hero of the legendary hard rock group, after being responsible for many of their best songs from both the Appetite and Use Your Illusion eras.

However, Aussie fans still holding out hope that Izzy might chuck a Steve Adler and make an unexpected cameo on some of the band’s forthcoming Not In This Lifetime tour dates have had their hopes dashed once again, with a war of the words erupting between Izzy and frontman Axl Rose, who’ve now offered two completely different explanations as to why Izzy isn’t involved in the big reunion.

When Axl and bassist Duff McKagan this week sat down for their first televised interview since reuniting with guitarist Slash for the first time in 23 years, they were asked whether Stradlin might rejoin his bandmates at some point in the future.

“I don’t even know what to say,” Axl responded. “We make arrangements and then he goes and does other things. With Izzy you never know what to expect.”

However, the gypsy-punk guitar slinger has taken to his new personal Twitter account to call Axl’s explanation “bullshit” and tell it pretty much exactly how it is:

Anyone keen to start a “Bribe Izzy To Rejoin GNR’s Reunion Tour” crowdfunding campaign?

There’s plenty of time to raise enough cashish before they bring the tour Down Under in February of 2017, after all.

Either way, it ain’t over til the fat lady sings, and Axl’s looking much fitter and more masculine than he has in years so we’re refusing to give up hope just yet. Besides, Gilby Clarke told us not to.

Maybe all we need is just a little Patience (and a whole lotta moolah).
