J. Cole Shares New Single ‘I n t e r l u d e’ From Forthcoming Album ‘The Off-Season’

J. Cole announced earlier this week that he’d be dropping his sixth studio album, The Off-Season next Friday, 14th May. Now, he’s shared a taster: ‘i n t e r l u d e’.

Announcing the drop of the new single, J. Cole said he’d initially planned to drop the album all at once. “Sometimes you gotta say fuck it tho,” he posted ahead of the single’s release.

‘I n t e r l u d e’ sees Cole touch on the United States’ gun crisis. “Just last week, seen yo’ mama weep / Crying ’cause she don’t wan’ bury your brother / The blood lеaks while the EMTs gotta carry her baby likе surrogate mothers,” he raps.

On the new album, J. Cole simply said, “Just know this was years in the making.”

You can listen to ‘i n t e r l u d e’ below. It’s taken from the rapper’s soon-to-arrive album, The Off-Season, due out next Friday, 14th May.
