Journey Guitarist Sues Ex Mother-In-Law In $1.5 Million Defamation Claim

You’d think that after divorcing your wife her annoying mother-in-law would be once and for all out of the picture but, as Journey guitarist Neal Schon discovered, it’s not so black and white these days, what with the internet and all – according to TMZ, Schon has filed a defamation suit against one Judy Kozan, asking for $1.5 million in damages following years of cyber abuse.

Language in the case file suggests Kozan “attacked and harassed” the guitarist since he split with then wife Amber Kozan back in 2007, the most recent of these attacks being a blog set up this year detailing how the Journey co-founder has failed to support his ex-wife and the children they share, accusing him of “not paying my daughter enough money to support herself”, letting their two girls “go homeless” and putting his ex “in a situation where she literally has no money for food, gas for the car, bills, nothing”.

Schon is seeking $1.3 million from the lawsuit after deeming that her internet posts have effected his reputation and led to the guitarist being slammed as a deadbeat dad. Before passing judgement, it’s worthy to note that since the case was filed, Kozan has backed down from her previous claims, updating her blog with posts stating that the deadbeat dad claims are in fact false.

Schon’s lovelife seems to be fairly dramatic. According to Blabbermouth, the guitarist recently proposed to girlfriend Michaele Salahi but the happy couple are being sued by Salahi’s former partner Tareq Salahi who believes her and Schon had been romantically engaged for years and did so to humiliate him. That particular lawsuit has been set at $50 million.

Jeez, it’s like a real-life Bold And The Beautiful up in there.
