Real life Captain Kirk is going to real life outer space.
Star Trek icon William Shatner will boldly go where no Star Trek icon has gone before next month, leaving earth’s orbit aboard Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket.
At 90-years-old, Shatner will also become the oldest human to ever enter outer space.
TMZ reports that Shatner will be among the passengers aboard Blue Origin when it launches in October.
He’ll spend three minutes in zero gravity as part of the 11-minute sub orbital flight, 100 kilometres above the earth’s surface, and will apparently filming the whole thing for an upcoming documentary.
Consider us beamed up, Scotty.
