Kanye West‘s $53 million personal debt might get even better if he’s successfully sued for $2.5 million over an uncleared sample used on Yeezus cut New Slaves.
According to TMZ, Hungarian composer Gabor Presser is suing Yeezy on claims that he never granted permission for the rapper to use Gyöngyhajú lány, a track he penned for Omega.
The composer claims that Kanye approached him about using the sample but a deal was never reached. Presser agreed originally, however, he was under the assumption that a formal deal would be put before him.
He’s also alleging that Kanye wrote a $10,000 check out to Presser but it has never been cashed.
This is the second lawsuit in as many months for Kanye. Last month fan Justin Baker-Rhett filed a lawsuit against Kanye and Tidal for allegedly “tricked millions of people into subscribing to their services.” This is because Kanye tweeted that The Life Of Pablo would never be available anywhere else but Tidal only to eventually release it on other streaming services.
It’s not a good time for him to be accruing lawsuits given that he announced earlier this year he was in $53 million personal debt and begged Facebook mastermind Mark Zuckerberg to help him out.
