Ken Stringfellow, musician, songwriter, producer, arranger, and all-round musical polymath, has announced that he will embark on a string of national tour dates, while in the country to perform as part of a special tribute to Big Star‘s Third/Sister Lovers LP for the 2014 Sydney Festival.
Since the debut of his band The Posies in 1988 and the success of their critically-lauded album Frosting on the Beater, Ken Stringfellow has been one of the indie landscape’s most respected and singular artists, also performing as part of the legendary group Big Star and superstars R.E.M.
Ken’s most recent work, Danzig in the Moonlight, will be released in Australia to coincide with his 2014 tour dates, which kick off with his appearance alongside Cat Power and Mike Mills at Sydney Festival, on Thursday, 23rd January, before shows in Perth, Adelaide and the East Coast.
