Kid Cudi Pays Tribute To Kurt Cobain, Donning Floral Summer Dress On SNL

Kid Cudi was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live over the weekend. Performing both ‘Tequila Shots’ and ‘Sad People’, he took the opportunity to pay tribute to Kurt Cobain.

How? With his outfits, of course.

His ‘Sad People’ performance sees him wear a take on Kurt’s floral dress, with a celebrated curtsy at the end of the set.

The ‘Tequila Shots’ performance however, channels that green knit cardi vibe.

The looks are of course iconic. The similarities were pointed out on Twitter by Entertainment Weekly journo, Jillian Sederholm, who wrote, “Sensing a pattern here with Kid Cudi on SNL and another KC.”

Tweeting about the SNL appearance, Cudi said, “Virgil designed the dress for me.”

“I told him I wanted to show love to Kurt w a floral print sundress and this man made a masterpiece.”

He then announced, “Im doin a collection w Off-White and the dress will be included!!”

Virgil Abloh posted about the performance too. “Freedom is, as freedom does,” he wrote. “Feel free.”

Both songs performed are taken from Cudi’s most recent album Man On The Moon III: The Chosen.
