Kings Of Leon To Drop Sixth Album ‘Mechanical Bull’ This September

Southern rockstars Kings Of Leon have confirmed that their sixth studio album, entitled Mechanical Bull, will be released this September, the follow-up to 2010’s Come Around Sundown.

According to Rolling Stone, the album will be out on 24th September and was recorded in their new Nashville studio, with production from longtime collaborator Angelo Petraglia. Recording has finished and the album is currently being sequenced, with bassist Jared Followill telling NME, “I thought we were going to make a really mature album but I’m amazed how youthful it sounds. It’s like a mix of Youth & Young Manhood and Because of the Times“, which is good news for fans who preferred the Tennessee quartet’s earlier sound.

Kings Of Leon previewed the first new material from the album last month at Bottle Rock Music & Arts Festival in California, playing a previously unheard track called Always The Same. Jared Followill had previously tweeted that he was too drunk to get the sequencing done for Mechanical Bull. Here’s hoping he gets it together in time for the release date.
