We’re just a week out from Lana Del Rey’s new album Norman Fucking Rockwell. Lana dropped two new singles overnight, ‘Fuck It I love You’ and ‘The Greatest’.
To celebrate, she’s dropped a double video. The video kicks off with ‘Fuck It I Love You’, full of sun-soaked, dreamy shots: LDR in a tyre swing, in the ocean, painting… It flicks back and forth between romantic shots and a dive bar where Lana Del Rey is performing karaoke.
The video moves onto ‘The Greatest’, after some aesthetic shots of California’s coastline. The video gets introspective here, showing Lana Del Rey in reflective shots. She sings, “The culture is lit and if this is it, I had a ball/I guess that I’m burned out after all”. There’s scattered references to Kanye and Bowie in the song and the video shows artists Joni Mitchell, Jeff Buckley, Leonard Cohen, Bon Iver along with The National in the jukebox.
