Let Them Eat Cake, a New Year’s Day staple in Melbourne, has announced its bumper 2022 lineup.
Our PM reckons we’ll all be vaccinated by December. The folks behind Let Them Eat Cake are taking him at his word, announcing a huge lineup for the festival’s return in 2022.
The New Year’s Day event, which returns to its Werribee Mansion home, will feature live sets from Confidence Man, Northeast Party House, Close Counters, and Tornado Club. The DJ lineup is equally impressive, including soul superhero Late Nite Tuff Guy, disco, house and boogie spinner CC:DISCO!, producer extraordinaire Young Franco and internationals Hidden Spheres (UK) and Aroha (NZ).
Confidence Man have experience at some of the biggest festivals in the world, including Primavera Sound, New York’s Governors Ball, Glastonbury and Splendour in the Grass.
triple j faves Northeast Party House sold out a bunch of shows at Melbourne’s Forum earlier this year. This will be the Melbourne band’s Let Them Eat Cake debut. Tornado Club, meanwhile, is the new collaborative project from Elle Graham (Woodes) and Danny Harley (The Kite String Tangle), while the rising duo Close Counters will be doling out their house, neo-soul, hip-hop and disco-influenced sounds.
First and second release tickets have already sold out, so get in quick.
