Lily Allen Unleashes New Video For ‘Sheezus’

Just a few months until she is set to hit our shores for Splendour In the Grass 2014 and ahead of her new album’s release in May, outspoken UK pop star Lily Allen has unleashed her title track Sheezus, giving fans and detractors alike the opportunity to hear first-hand its much talked-about controversial content.

Allen previously announced she was unable to release the track as an official single because it contained the word “period” which she said people found offensive, “even though half the world has to deal with it once a month.” Despite this, the track and accompanying video has now surfaced online in all its unabashed glory.

Apart from her casual riffing on menstruation, on Sheezus Allen also name-drops a slew of the industry’s biggest female stars, calling out Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Lorde, and Lady Gaga. True to form, Allen’s opinions of her contemporaries can be interpreted as anything from all out praise to cheeky backhanded compliments. Check it out below.

Lily Allen will launch her new album Sheezus with a one-off gig at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Monday, 28th April. It will be her first headline performance in four years. The album is set for release on 2nd May in Australia.
