Perfect, Avril Lavigne has released her cover of Nickelback‘s smash hit How you Remind Me just in time for it to make it to the ‘Worst songs of 2012’ list. News broke of the adaptation a little while ago after it was revealed that Lavigne would be covering her hubby for a forthcoming animated movie soundtrack.
So I took one for the team: I listened from start to finish so ya’ll didn’t have to. It’s pretty much what you’d expect: Nickelback’s potentially best track drenched in sap, slowly cascading piano and teen angst that only the 30-something Lavigne would know about.
It’s pretty cute what Chad Kroeger let Lavigne pass through the copyright red tape, but I guess that’s what you do when you get married.
This isn’t the last we’ll hear of the two-headed beast known as Chavril. The *ahem* ‘punk rock’ diva is said to be dropping more of her Nickelback renditions in the near future. This is of course separate to the collaboration album the pair will soon be releasing.
