If only every headline was so full of awesome news: The Darkness have covered Radiohead’s 1996 single Street Spirit (Fade Out), a cover that, according to Loudwire, will feature on The Darkness’ third record Hot Cakes, due out August 21.
The cover is, of course, classic Darkness, taking Radiohead’s dark ominous sounds and giving them a glam rock makeover, while still maintaining the integrity of the song. The cover was premiered on Pitchfork, but you can have a listen to it below and decide for yourself whether you prefer Radiohead’s original or The Darkness’ version (I’m sticking with it).
In other Darkness news, the lead single from Hot Cakes titled Everybody Have a Good Time is soon to make its debut on the airways and already has a swanky new music video to go with it, complete with a bear stripping – check it out…
