Mantra’s New Single ‘Break Tradition’ From Upcoming Album ‘Telling Scenes’

Aussie rapper Mantra has returned with yet another track, Breaking Tradition, set to be featured on his just-announced forthcoming record Telling Scenes, expected to drop this September.

Unlike its older sibling, Break Tradition sees Mantra take on the far more serious topic of intergenerational violence, telling the tale in a more sombre tone while holding onto his dexterous rhymes. The track focuses on why people spread the violence that was inflicted upon them, resulting in a pointless cycle, until someone shuns the practice and breaks tradition. Get it?

This single features an appearances from the Melbourne Massive hip hop choir as well as a chorus courtesy of Cisco Tavares. The beat was selected from an array composed by Cam Bluff after it leapt out at Mantra as he flicked through a choice of beats for the track, leaving him with no option other than to layer it with heartfelt lyrics.

Between now and the album launch, Mantra will be performing alongside Seth Sentry and Grey Ghost on their massive run of headlining shows before he throws his own headlining shows into the mix.

Telling Scenes will be released 13th September.
