Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival Unmasks Secret 2015 Headliner

The promoters of the inaugural Maroochydore Music & Visual Arts Festival have unmasked their mystery headliner, revealing that the secret weapon is none other than hometown heroes Flight Facilities.

The Sunshine Coast’s newest boutique music and arts festival also features previously announced acts Alpine, DZ Deathrays, Hermitude, The Kite String Tangle and Hiatus Kaiyote. But Flight Facilities have just been announced at the top of the bill, hot on the heels of their stint at Splendour In the Grass 2015.

“Festivals weren’t really around when I was growing up on the Coast,” one half of the electronic duo, Jimmy Lyall, explains. “So being a part of something like this is really special to me. Not to mention how much fun playing a hometown show with all my friends is going to be.”

The 2015 Maroochy Festival will take place at the Horton Park Golf Course, Maroochydore, on Saturday, 22nd August.

As well as a showcase of some of the best local artist around, the event has also billed itself as an “open-air visual art gallery” featuring such promising art installations as giant illuminated inflatable bunnies, by a roster of visual artists that’s as long as its roster of musical acts.
