Melbourne Music Week Unveils Full 2016 Program

Melbourne Music Week has announced its full 2016 program, and it’s packed full of international and local highlights.

Numerous special performances have been plotted throughout the week in November, including Elliphant, Shihad, Sebastian Tellier and The Drones, who will close out the week with a one-off, career-spanning performance using the grand organ at Melbourne Town Hall.

That’s far from being the only unique experience coming to Melbourne Music Week. The Jungle Giants, Aunty Donna and more will perform on the steps of Parliament Of Victoria, Dan Kelly will perform as part of Hush: An Evening Of Quiet Music At The Parliament, and The Delta Riggs and Pierce Brothers, among others, will perform in spaces at the MCG not used for performances before like the player change rooms.

On top of that, triple j Unearthed will celebrate 10 years of existence with a gig featuring Allday and Northeast Party House.

The week will centre around Melbourne Music Week’s new hub for 2016, State Library Victoria which will play host to performances and events from its original reading room to its forecourt.

Contemporary music summit Face The Music is also lodged within the week, sporting an already-announced list of speakers including Zola Jesus, Tkay Maidza and Anthony Fantano.
