Missy Higgins Shares New Single ‘Edge Of Something’

Missy Higgins has wasted no time getting back on the grind as the world slowly begins to return to normal, today dropping new single ‘Edge Of Something’.

Originally featured as an 80-second instrumental for  ABC’s Total Control TV series, the singer/songwriter has now gifted us a full arrangement, with Brendon Love from the Teskey Brothers helming the production chair.

Musically it’s the excellence we’ve come to expect from Higgins, with her mesmerizing vocals carrying an initial slow-burn through to a triumphant and thrilling climax. Listen below.

“I’m really proud to have my music featured in this particular show”, Missy explains in a statement.

“It’s a compelling drama about the challenges women face in public life so I think it’s ‘must-see after all the revelations coming out of Canberra this year.

Higgins has confirmed that there’s more music on the way soon too, including the song ‘Watch Out’, which she teased on ABC’s The Set earlier this year, alongside rapper Birdz, whose song ‘Legacy 2’ Missy is also featured on.

Higgins is also set to hit stages around the country in the coming months, headlining the Wildflower Festival around the country next year, as well as select SummerSalt dates.

“It’s been lovely to get so much quality time with my young family over the last 18 months”, Higgins explains, “but if I’ve learned anything it’s that making music keeps me sane!”

It appears the next year is going to be a very good time for Missy Higgins fans. Best dust off a copy of The Sound of White and learn the words for some big sing-a-longs.
