Molly Meldrum Condition Improved Enough To Undergo More Surgery

Doctors are now happy enough with Molly Meldrum’s condition to perform the extra surgery needed to repair a broken collar bone and ribs that were sustained with his head injuries almost 7 days ago.

His condition was downgraded to “serious but stable” after tests from doctors led to his sedation level being reduced, and he showed positive signs of response after opening his eyes.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Molly’s brother Brian said:

“Molly’s a pretty tough customer, but I know he would be overwhelmed by the level of support he is receiving. Certainly from a family point of view that support has been an invaluable source of strength and comfort, for which we cannot thank you enough.”

“They say patience is a virtue, and patience is certainly something we need to have right now”.

“For Molly it will be a long, slow road but I have no doubt it will be much smoothed by having so many of his friends, fans and well-wishers travelling on it with him.”

Meldrum had been putting up Christmas decorations for a party at his Richmond home on the 15th when he fell 3 metres from a ladder and suffered serious head injuries, as well as broken ribs and a punctured lung.
