More Details Confirmed From Dave Grohl and Corey Taylor Side Project

A couple of weeks ago MusicFeeds reported on a collaboration between Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, which was speculated for use in a Sound City Studios project.

Well, now those rumors have been confirmed in an NME article posted today. Taylor revealed that the collaboration is part of a documentary about Sound City Studios, spearheaded by Grohl.

Last year Sound City Studios, where Nirvana’s Nevermind was recorded in 1991, closed its doors. In response, Grohl has been gathering a collection of musicians to record with on the studio’s infamous mixing consol.

As Taylor explained to Artisan News Service, “Dave is doing a documentary about the legendary board from Sound City that everybody and their mom recorded on… He called me. He was like, ‘Would you like to do a tune?’ I was like, ‘Are you serious? I’m on a plane right now.’ And it’s really cool, because it’s me, Dave and Rick Nielsen [Cheap Trick] on one tune.”

There’s no word yet on when Grohl’s documentary or its accompanying soundtrack will be released.
