More J Award Australian Album Of The Year 2014 Noms Announced

triple j have unveiled the next round of nominees fighting it out for Australian Album of the Year at this year’s J Awards, adding albums from Sydney duo Flight Facilities, Adelaide hip hop legends Hilltop Hoods, prolific fuzz-rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, electronic outfit Seekae, post-rock heavyweights sleepmakeswaves and Blue Mountains hip hop group Thundamentals to the list of impressive 2014 Aussie releases.

The six new Australian Album Of The Year nominees join six others who were nominated for the award in early November, including Melbourne producer Chet Faker, Brisbane indie-rockers Ball Park Music and Sydney band The Preatures, as well as #1 Dads, Remi and Total Control.

The addition of six new names to the Australian Album Of The Year List follows Friday’s announcement of a brand-new J Award category, the Double J Artist Of The Year prize.

Further nominees for all awards will be announced in the coming weeks, with the winners revealed in Melbourne on Tuesday, 18th November. The J Awards ceremony will be broadcast live on triple j from 5pm. View the second round Australian Album Of The Year nominees alongside the previously announced releases, below.
