Music Community Reacts To The Death Of Architects Guitarist Tom Searle

Over the weekend, news broke that Architects guitarist Tom Searle has passed away following a hard-fought battle against cancer. It seems that fans and peers of Searle alike are struggling to make sense of his untimely passing, with many taking to social media to voice their shock and disbelief.

Mainstays of the scene for many, many years, you’d be hard pressed to find a band that didn’t share a bill with Architects. Many musicians have shared their personal tales of Tom, while others join fans in remembering him as the great musician he was.

The band were never too far away from announcing an Australian tour date, with their last journey down under happening last year. The band is scheduled to return to Australia with their new record All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us next month, in support of Bring Me The Horizon.

You can help, too. There is now a fundraiser page set up for Martlets Hospice, which took care of Tom during his final days. As they explain, only 30 per cent of their funding comes from the Government, meaning no donation will be too small. At the time of writing, 666 people have donated to the page, suggesting the gods of metal have given their blessing.
