Nicki Minaj Says She’s Retiring From Music

Nicki Minaj has taken to Twitter to announce she’s retiring to have a family. Tweeting, she said, “I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now.”

“To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, X in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE,” she finished.

Chatting to Wonderland last year, Nicki Minaj said motherhood was just around the corner for her, saying she first had to get married.

“I’ve got to get married first then I’ll have a child. I might be closer than people think actually,” she said.

“I love children. I’m not going to put that off for much longer.”

Last month, she announced on Queen Radio, that she and her boyfriend Kenneth Petty had gotten a marriage license a week prior, leaving them with 80 days to get married.

During the show she said, “I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don’t want to do the big wedding now. We’ll do the big wedding later.

“I’ll be married before my album comes out, but will have my wedding after the album comes out. Before the 90 days is over, yes, I will be married. I’m very happy about that because my baby makes me so happy.”

Fans are not impressed with the news, with many of them tweeting from the depths of denial.

Hopefully, Nicki Minaj blesses us with one last album before she actually retires. This week she featured in Megan thee Stallion’s ‘Hot Girl Summer’ video, also featuring Ty Dolla Sign, and Juicy J.
