ARIA organisers have announced that Nicki Minaj, of all people, will be presenting at the upcoming ARIA awards. Minaj will be making a cheeky diversion from her run of Australian tour dates to make the ceremony.
The American Idol judge, whose name can oft be seen in headlines next to another artist’s name, and of course the word ‘argument’, will be in town for her first ever Australian tour dates, supporting her latest release Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up. Minaj will be presenting the Best Urban Release prize, which is probably as close as she will ever get to the actual award.
Those in the running this year include 360 for his gangbuster Falling & Flying, Hilltop Hoods with their latest album Drinking from the Sun, Katalyst for Deep Impressions, The Bamboos with Medicine Man, and finally The Herd for their album Future Shade.
Further enhancing the international appeal of the night will be the tween country-pop stylings of Taylor Swift, making the 26th ARIA awards a pretty huge night.
The new and improved ARIA Awards night will kick off on Thursday, November 29 at Sydney Entertainment Centre.
