Nirvana’s Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic Back In The Studio Again

In news that will make all grunge fans wet their pants, former Nirvana bandmates Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic have hit the studio together again.

The duo are currently spending time with Butch Vig – who produced their classic 1991 album Nevermind.  The last time the three of them worked together was on Foo Fighters‘ latest album Wasting Light – where Novoselic played bass on I Should Have Known, and Vig was in the producers’ chair.

Vig excitingly revealed the news yesterday via his Twitter account:

“The last 24 hours have been surreal! Had a great gig at the El Rey last night, and spent today recording with Dave, Krist and special guest!”

Details of the project and who the ‘special guest’ is are sketchy, however Loudwire has suggested that they are working on something for Grohl’s documentary about Los Angeles’ Sound City Studios – which is where Nevermind and other iconic albums such as Fleetwood Mac’s Rumors were recorded.  Watch this space…
