Nothing But Thieves Announce Soundwave 2016 Sideshows

UPDATE 17/12/15 5.50pm: Soundwave 2016 has been officially cancelled. It’s unclear at this point what that means for all scheduled sideshows. We’ll bring you the information as soon as it develops.

Essex rock five-piece Nothing But Thieves have announced a trio of Soundwave festival sideshows for 2016.

As well making their Australian live debut at the festival proper in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, the British buzz-band will also be playing their own headlining sideshows in each city.

Festival boss AJ Maddah previously tweeted that punters would be unlikely to see as many sideshows in 2016, but this new announcement goes against his prediction that Sydney wouldn’t be getting any love at all.

He also prophesised 3 sidewaves in Brisbane, 4-5 in Melbourne, plus a killer 4-band metal bill in Perth.

Nothing But Thieves – who kind of sound like Jeff Buckley and Royal Blood had a musical baby – were a surprise addition to the first Soundwave lineup announcement, which has since been supplemented with the addition of Killswitch Engage, Ill Nino and Terror Universal.

They’ll be coming to our shores armed with their newly-released self-titled debut album, and tickets to their SW16 sideshows are on sale now.
