UPDATE 10/10/16: Parquet Courts have announced a Melbourne headline show, which will form the first event at Shadow Electric’s 2017 summer project ‘Shimmerlands’ at The University of Melbourne’s Parkville campus.
The band have co-curated a top-notch local lineup for the show on Thursday, 5th January – featuring Tyrannamen, Ausmuteants and Nicky Crane plus DJs Etta & Tilly – to kick off “two months of top-tier music and cinema programming, complemented by an al fresco dining area featuring an extensive range of Melbourne’s finest restaurants”.

ORIGINAL STORY: Soon to be in town as part of the Falls Festival extravaganza, Parquet Courts have revealed they’ll be sidetracking from the event to perform two headline shows. Sydney has been announced today, with Melbourne details expected to drop soon. So chill, Melbourne.
Though well accustomed to a live performance from the group, this will be the first chance for Australian fans to catch Parquet Courts’ latest album, Human Performance, in action. The record marks the fifth release from the band, putting them on the stages of mainstream media like Conan and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert while they retained their indie integrity.
The Brooklyn outfit have well and truly earned their place on the list of crucial rock outfits for their time. And there are no indications that things will be slowing down.
Says frontman Andrew Savage, “I began to question my humanity, and if it was always as sincere as I thought, or if it was a performance.” So the band have plenty more exploring to do.
