A Perfect Circle Reportedly “Hope” To Tour Australia With New Album ‘Eat The Elephant’

Rock supergroup A Perfect Circle are reportedly hoping to tour Australia in support of their new album Eat The Elephant, their first full-length studio album in 14 years.

Speaking on Double J this morning after broadcasting a pre-recorded interview with A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan, Double J ‘Mornings’ host Zan Rowe said the band will be touring the album “all over the world”, including, Keenan “hopes”, in Australia.

“I also asked him if he planned to bring that show to Australia — he hopes so,” Rowe said. “I didn’t ask him about [his other band] Tool, I wasn’t allowed to.”

A Perfect Circle haven’t toured Australia since they performed as part of Soundwave Festival back in 2013, having released their previous album Emotive back in 2004.

The band’s current lineup includes Maynard James Keenan, Billy Howerdel (Ashes Divide), James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins, Tinted Windows), Jeff Friedl (Puscifer, The Beta Machine) and Matt McJunkins (Eagles of Death Metal, The Beta Machine), but Greg Edwards (Failure, Autolux) is currently filling in for James Iha at the band’s live shows.

Tool, meanwhile, are currently recording the long-awaited follow-up to their 2006 album 10,000 Days.
