Port Fairy Folk Festival 2013 Lineup

That’s right, ladies and gents. The famed Port Fairy Folk Festival is gearing up for another massive year. The 37th birthday of the event has big shoes to follow after last year’s sell-out gig, but today we have the first lineup announcement, and organisers are definitely onto something good. Real good.

The festival has secured the picks of the litter in the folk-music world, from both local and overseas artists, to perform at the Labour Day Long Weekend festival. Matching the massive lineup of 2012 was surely no easy feat, but headliners Arlo Guthrie and Eric Bogle early bird tickets were gone in minutes. Now with a whole heap of artists added, the next round of tix is gonna go even quicker.

Today sees the addition of the fragile but emotive power of indigenous singer/songwriter Gurrumul, and our very own enchantress Kate Miller-Heidke, as well as one Australia’s most successful indigenous performers Christine Anu.

Chris Smither, Blues prodigy Eugene Hideaway Bridges, and Go Jane Go will be imported just for the event, with even more international artists still to be announced.

The coastal Victorian town of Port Fairy will be transformed for the Festival, promising a selection of activities that will keep everyone entertained, should the list of 100 international and national artists not tickle your fancy. This will be a celebration of community, with emphasis on people, words and music.

Second round tickets are now for sale through here. Kids under 12 get in scot free, and there is also a special price for ‘youth tickets’.
