Portlandia & SNL’s Fred Armisen Will Be Touring Australia For The First Time This Year

Portlandia star Fred Armisen has today announced that he will be touring Australia for the first time, bringing his comedy show, Comedy For Musicians But Everyone Is Welcome, to the country in August.

Arguably one of the most diverse performers in the industry, Armisen is an actor, comedian, voice artist, screen writer, producer, singer and musician. Aside from his role in Portlandia, he’s also best recognised as a cast member on NBC’s Saturday Night Live from 2002 to 2013.

As the co-creator and co-star of the sketch comedy series Portlandia, Armisen was nominated for an Emmy Award for ‘Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series’ in 2012, 2013 and 2014. He was also nominated for the Emmy for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series’ in 2014. In 2013 he, along with the other writers of the show, won a Writers Guild Award for ‘Outstanding Comedy/Variety Series’, which they were nominated for again in 2014 and 2018. Portlandia went on to receive the prestigious Peabody Award for excellence in 2011.

You’ll also recall seeing Armisen in films such as Anchorman, Tenacious D And The Pick of Destiny, Zoolander 2 or on your tele in 30 Rock, Modern Family, Parks & Recreation, Brooklyn 99 and more.
